Published by johnson lee (A0.912659)."Pride, Discipline, and Honour," affectionately referred to as PDH by the musicians of the SAF Band, is regularly performed at Parades and Ceremonies of the Singapore Armed Forces. The piece begins in F Major with a striking, fanfare-like introduction. The first melodic strain features the melody from the SAF Military Police Command song, presented solemnly and with dignity. The second strain introduces a powerful, stoic melody, the relative key of D minor, carried by the lower brass instruments. The bridge passage showcases the entire band performing in unison, with the melody rising chromatically in a pulsating rhythmic 12/8 time signature. This pulsating rhythm reaches a climax, leading into the trio section. In the trio, the middle instruments take center stage with the main melodic strain, while the finale highlights the woodwinds and high brass playing a counter melody.
