De Preludes voor piano van Debussy behoren tot de meesterwerken van het impressionisme. De arrangeur wilde dit kleurrijke universum vertalen naar het bereik van de symfonische band. Hij gebruikt hiervoor het hele palet van elke blazer, en bedacht het arrangement als een ensemblestuk in plaats van een groot klankspectrum. De specifieke combinaties van de concert band gebruikt hij hier in hun eigen klankkleur, zonder iets aan het origineel te veranderen. Deel 1-4, deel 5-8 en deel 9-12 worden ook apart verkocht.

Debussy’s Preludes for Piano is a masterpiece of impressionist music. The arranger wanted to translate this colourful universe into the symphonic concert band scope. He explores the wide palette of resources that a wind band offers and the possibilities of each single instrumentalist; instead of a big sound mass he designed it as a big ensemble. He used the specific combinations of the concert band forces in order to achieve a real band sound without changing anything to the original.

Les Préludes pour Piano de Debussy font partie des chefs-d’œuvre de l’impressionnisme. L’arrangeur a voulu traduire cet univers multicolore dans la portée du band symphonique. Pour cela il utilise toute la palette de chaque vent, et conçoit le morceau comme une pièce d’ensemble au lieu d’un grand spectre de son. Les combinaisons spécifiques du concert-band sont utilisées dans leur propre couleur, sans changer quoi que ce soit de l’original.

Die Klavier-Preludes von Debussy gehören zu denMeisterwerken der impressionistischen Musik. Der Arrangeur wollte dieses farbenreiche Universum auf das sinfonische Blasorchester übertragen. Er benutze dabei die ganze Klangpalette jedes einzelnen Blasinstruments und auch die Kombinationsmöglichkeiten innerhalb des Blasorchesters, ohne dabei am Original etwas zu verändern.
