A clever and useful piece
Mr. Chamberlin's music is always well-crafted and often mischievous! In this case, what the title doesn't tell you is that this hymn tune in minor, Llangloffan, has a not-so-identical twin in the hymn tune Llanfyllin, which is the major version. I can't think of another case like this, which is what makes this prelude fun, since he uses both versions. Your mileage may vary, but to me this piece is not difficult and that makes it perfect to pull out whenever either hymn tune is used in the service. Or just when you want a satisfying piece of music. I've registered it softly for a prelude and more robustly for a postlude.
