Editorial Note The autograph manuscript indicates D-sharp via the key signature, but the first Gutheil edition mistakenly printed D-natural--likely an engraving error. Although Gutheil corrected this in later printings with a cautionary accidental, the original misprint propagated widely and appears in many later editions. As a result, numerous performances still reflect this incorrect reading. This edition uses the original D-sharp.
