Bret Hesla was inspired to write an SATB choral setting of Pope Francis’s "A Prayer for Our Earth," which speaks to the climate emergency and our call to respond as people of faith. Zach Busch further arranged the score and created the piano accompaniment. The text is set in six short movements which convey the character of each prayer petition. The movements can be sung as a whole, individually, or in pairings, and could be interspersed with spoken prayers, psalms, or other liturgical elements.
