Das Potpourri in dieser ausgefallenen Besetzung pflegt den in der Biedermeierzeit häufigen Unterhaltungsstil, der sich gelegentlich bis ins Virtuose steigerte. Die Neuausgabe erfolgte nach dem Originaldruck von 1825 und wurde von Matthias Henke vorbildlich betreut. Der Gitarrensatz ist fast durchweg akkordisch, die Melodieführung ausschließlich dem Cello anvertraut.
