"Pomp and Circumstance" is taken from a series of marches composed by Edward Elgar in 1901. This one is commonly known as "The Graduation March," since it is played at most high school and college graduation ceremonies. This String Trio arrangement is divided into 5 numbered sections - each of which can stand alone as a statement of the tune. All of these sections, however, are a different voicing of the melody and the accompaniment. All (or some) of the sections can be repeated - or any section can be deleted - to alter the length of the compostion as needed.
