"Pog aon oidhche earraich" (the correct spelling) was a favourite of the Scots Gaelic choir I used to conduct. Singers who were new to the language had only the chorus's four lines of text to grapple with, while the narrated verses were a perfect way for some of the native speakers of Gaelic (regardless of their vocal abilities) to have "solos"!
