Epic Fun for My Community Orchestra!
I absolutely love playing this "Pirates of the Caribbean" medley! Klaus Badelt's iconic music, brilliantly arranged by Ted Ricketts, sounds fantastic and truly captures the movie's drama. As an adult learner in a community string orchestra, the Grade 3 difficulty is challenging but totally achievable. It's so rewarding to play something so well-known and have our ensemble sound great. Fun piece!
The students absolutely love the challenge of this piece and the recognizable tune makes it easier for them to play. They look forward to orchestra and practice time! There are some tricky rhythms, but a broad range of playing levels is happy with this selection. A little tough for the more inexperienced players, but we've worked in some chords for them. I agree it's costly, but the quality and ease of use (just handing out the many copies provided) is WORTH it!
