Published by ConSordino Music Publishing (A0.1536585).This woodwind quintet is one of my early compositions and won the 2003 Marmor Composition Award (funded by the Marmor Foundation through the Department of Music at Stanford University).
It is comprised of three light and playful movements:
"1. On a Sunday Afternoon," "2. Games in the Park," and "3. Cigars, Cakes, and a Nice Ride Home."
The piece features an interplay between minimalistic, faster sections and pastoral segments, in which melodic fragments are distributed equally among all players.
Instrumentation includes flute, oboe, clarinet in B-flat, French horn in F, and bassoon. The duration of the piece is approximately 10 minutes. The short audio sample showcases one section from each movement.
