In the tradition of Ragtime for Iban and Lakes Road, this piece is part of a style dear to me: old-fashioned finger-picking, as my friend François Sciortino so aptly champions.
This groove, often compared to piano ragtime, takes me back to my first discoveries of this music from North America, with Nashville as its epicenter.
It's hard not to think of Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, or Jerry Reed, or even Marcel Dadi, who brought this style to France.
This piece is a nod, a personal tribute to this tradition, revisited with what my fingers and my heart have retained.
It is dedicated to my daughter-in-law Lisa, whom we affectionately call "Ada." Enjoy!

Dans la lignée de Ragtime pour Iban et Lakes Road, cette pièce s’inscrit dans un style qui m’est cher : le finger-picking à l’ancienne, comme le défend si bien mon ami François Sciortino.
Ce groove, souvent comparé au ragtime pianistique, me ramène à mes premières découvertes de cette musique venue d’Amérique du Nord, avec Nashville pour épicentre.
Difficile de ne pas penser à Chet Atkins, Merle Travis ou Jerry Reed, ou encore à Marcel Dadi, qui fit rayonner ce style en France.
Ce morceau est un clin d’œil, un hommage personnel à cette tradition, revisité avec ce que mes doigts et mon cœur ont retenu.
Il est dédié à ma belle-fille Lisa, que nous appelons affectueusement «Ada». Bonne écoute !
