Violin, cello and piano - advanced - Digital Download
SKU: S9.Q7029
Composed by Xiaogang Ye. This edition: score and parts. Score and parts. Op. 59. Duration 10 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q7029. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q7029).
The Piano Trio op. 59 was composed in 2008. The work was inspired by Joseph Haydn’s Die Schoepfung [The Creation]. China boasts a vast number of old myths and legends. The first thought that came into my mind was that of the Chinese myth of Pangu who cleaved the Chaos with an axe to be Heaven and Earth. I heard the story from the old people when I was a child. I should say that it was a fantastic moment when the story suddenly jumped into my mind while I appreciated Western music. There is no doubt that my ideology of music is influenced in many ways by Western culture, but it will always be rooted in my Chinese heritage.
