By Richard St. Clair; pianist and composer. Composed by Richard St. Clair. Arranged by Richard St. Clair. This edition: audio. 20th Century, Chamber, Classical, Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 1150. Richard St. Clair #1249722. Published by Richard St. Clair (A0.1684507).
St. Clair wrote this while a senior in the Harvard Music Department. A neoclassical work, this went against the grain of the academic avant-garde style of the time (1969) and was thus controversial, including in the composition seminar where playing it caused quite a stir. In four movements following the general pattern of the classical sonata, the music is airy, uplifting, contemplative, rejoicing. The composer made this recording much later in life.
This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global
self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
