This is piano quintet was written for a professional ensemble. The third movement was the favorite of the audience. In the traditional three movements, this quintet is largely monothematic. The themes of the second and third movements are based on the waltz theme of the first movement. Harmonically, it is mostly triadic, though not strictly tonal. It begins in G minor (there's something almost haunting about a waltz in a minor key), and while the second movement is clearly in D major, the tonality of the third movement remains ambiguous. The world premier was presented by the Luminoso Piano Quintet in November of 2025 in Thousand Oaks, California, and was met with an enthusiastic response. The YouTube link is only the first movement.
