Great for young beginners
I really love this piano method for the young beginner. It proceeds slowly and surely so that everything is learned well, the basics are well established for the child so that they have a real stable foundation. I have found that children will follow finger numbers rather than notes if they are pushed along too quickly and don't have a chance to learn the notes adequately at the beginning. This method gives them the time to absorb and play the new notes as they're added. I feel that the beginning years are so important for teaching all they'll need to to know from then on, for going into other instruments and other types of music once they reach their teens, so this is why I use this method particularly for starters.

Excellent series
I teach exclusively with this series. It is the best series available in my professional opinion because it teaches two hand contrapuntal reading from the early start. Other series do not teach that until after several levels. There are a few glitches in the order of difficulty of pieces but with preparation and thorough teaching this can be overcome. All my students have grown quickly with this series, unlike any other I have used.
