physical approach Gordon
Claude Gordon's approach to teaching young brass players the basics is a must have for any brass studio. I have not had one player whose playing range and security has failed to improve using this method. Students with braces especially find this approach successful. Taking the weight off and replacing it with core body support and allowing air to flow is at the heart of Gordon's method. Get it if you want your students to succeed.

Physical Approach to Elementary Brass Playing
Claude Gordon has written substantive books for the progressing brass player. Physical approach is a superb text for the intermediate player. Covering tonal development, range extension and flexibility studies Gordon takes the player through a well sequenced instruction that lays the ground work for many years to come. My students have no trouble in understanding and applying the instruction in this book to both commercial and classical styles. An excellent text for all.
