"Petra ‘ zo henoz a nevez?" ** (which means *"What is new tonight?" in English) is a Christmas carol from the Breton oral tradition, specifically from the Trégor region. Passed down through generations, it was traditionally sung during evening gatherings, communal celebrations, and collective work. Today, only the first three of the original thirteen verses are commonly preserved. The melody comes from an old French carol dating back to at least the 17th century, also used by composer N. Balbastre. Many Breton artists, such as Yann-Fañch Kemener, Gwennyn, and Nolwenn Korbell, have revived the song, offering interpretations that range from traditional instrumentation (harp, bombarde, fiddle) to more contemporary arrangements.
