It was an instant hit and quickly gained a life of its own, winning Emmys and Grammys along the way. It has since been rerecorded by numerous artists as diverse as Jimi Hendrix and Aretha Franklin.
This version is a straightforward Saxophone Quartet arrangement scored for three Alto Saxophones and one Tenor. It suits players at an easy to intermediate standard and is guaranteed to be popular with young and old. Alto part 3 in particular is written for beginners, while the Tenor player will require stamina and good breathing technique to keep the rhythmic momentum throughout.
