Piano Hive is the collaborative project of composers Janette Mason and James Alexander Thompson. Peaceful Christmas by Piano Hive is a unique collection of 20 traditional Christmas songs, reimagined for the modern day. Suitable for all age groups, children, teenagers and adults alike will find something to enjoy. Aimed at the late beginner and progressing through to Grade 2, Peaceful Christmas is perfect for home performance, practice piano pieces and ABRSM, Rock School and Trinity piano grade support pieces. We are all familiar with these Christmas songs, many of which are nearly two hundred years old. They have amazing melody lines however we often hear them played in the same way. For this book we decided to create new arrangements that are not only peaceful but integrate a modern approach to harmony which is rich and warm. We have used some beautiful chord combinations and arpeggio based patterns to give the songs a fresh perspective.
