"Peace Prayer No. 5" concludes my series of organ reflections on the war in Ukraine. The "A" section, in C Major, has a somewhat stronger registration than do the previous pieces, while the middle section, in A Aeolian, features a plaintive melody quietly soloed out over a two-chord ostinato pattern that represents a prayerfulness that changes character from pleading to hopefulness depending on which pedal (A or F) is sounded below these chords. Following a brief transition, the "A" section returns, with the piece concluding with a repeat of the final phrase that, in a bit of a twist, ends on an A Major chord. This recording was made on May 17, 2022 by organist Carson Cooman.
