Pasos Gatunos Flute - Digital Sheet Music

By Mike Strand, ASCAP A duet for flute (or violin) and piano, the title Pasos Gatunos translates as "Cat-Like Steps", a good description of Argentine tango dancing. Pasos Gatunos enjoyed a live performance in February 2005 in Washington, D.C., by saxophonist Anders Lundegård in the place of a player of flute or violin. Carl Banner (Washington Musica Viva) played the piano.  The audience received it enthusiastically, as you can hear on the audio:  The entire energetic, skilled and entertaining 2005 performance. Way to go, Anders and Carl!Pasos Gatunos was performed at least twice in public again in 2005, with Anders Lundegård on saxophone and María José Martin on piano: 1. Meagher Theatre, Neuman College, Aston, PA, on Nov. 4, and 2. First Presbyterian Church, West Chester, PA, on Nov. 5. The name of the concert was "Ice and Fire". The program bulletin quotes me (Mike Strand) as saying, "A good tango is like a well-crafted Bach prelude - a lot happens in three minutes".   I think Anders viewed my tango as part of the "fire"  -- thanks! You can be the judge of whether this tango meets this standard, by listening to the audio sample.I wrote Pasos Gatunos in 2003, in honor of my wife (deceased 2004) Linda and me dancing tango together. Also, she played the flute and I played piano together sometimes.
