For solo violin, advanced. Stands alone or as second movement (see Arctic Adventure). Focuses on the Parecis people of the Brazilian Amazon, their life and music. The violin plus optional sound effects made by the player depict the wild life and scenery, then passages in the strange whole-tone mode lead to beautiful and moving Parecis traditional tunes. The ending is a funeral song, which I included to show my sympathy for these Indigenous communities and the dreadful treatment they suffer. About 10 minutes.
