This charming, seldom-performed number began its life as a solo piano piece in 1897. German composer Leon Jessel orchestrated it in 1905, and it quickly became popular. Ballard MacDonald wrote lyrics for it in 1922, and ten years later it became a Betty Boop cartoon.
