Multiple Percussion Duet by Brad Draper.
Paper Plane is an original Grade 5 multiple percussion duet written for advanced college-level percussionists. Designed for recital and ensemble performances, the piece features intricate rhythmic interaction, timbral contrast, and a contemporary chamber music aesthetic. Perfect for percussion majors, university ensemble programming, or students preparing recital repertoire.
Paper Plane is a percussion duet utilizing two snare drums and two sets of bongos. Performers will be playing on their own snare drum and on both sets of bongos; bongo drums are to be shared between performers.
· Performers should be facing each other with their music stands back to back to minimize space.
· The small/high pitched bongo drum should be on the performers left. The bigger/lower pitched drum should be on the performers right.
· A towel should be placed on the top quarter of the snare drum to dampen the sound. Binder clips are useful to keep the towel in place.
· The snares should be off.
