Pachelbel's Canon (Canon in D) by Johann Pachelbel Piano Method - Digital Sheet Music

By Johann Pachelbel

This timeless classic, "Pachelbel's Canon" (commonly known as "Canon in D"), by Johann Pachelbel is perfect for the beginning pianist. With just enough new challenges and familiar notes, this arrangement features a familiar melody, some hands together, quarter and half notes, ranges one octave from notes G3 - G4 (middle C range), and is great for any age. No rests have been added to the score in order to minimize confusion with players that may be intimidated by reading. The staves had been enlarged for easy reading and are big enough to add rests as an exercise if desired. This version of Pachelbel's Canon is a quick learn and great for recitals or other performances.Duration: 1min 30 sec - 2min 30 secPages: 2Key: CLevel: BeginningArranged by Chelsey Joy: New Age Pianist, Composer, and Educator https://www.facebook.com/chelseyjoymusichttps://www.youtube.com/chelseyjoymusic

Perfect for new players

All of my beginning students are given this particular piece in order to review fundamental notes and practice hands together. It doesn't bother me that there are no rests in place, as I am more concerned with my students knowing notes. The absence of the rests does not affect the ability to play the correct rhythm of the song. Newer students appreciate the simplification and visual absence of the rests. For learning it helps them focus on notes more. Perfect for my studio.

oft used

I used this as a gift for my rudimentary piano student, and I plan to leave it in my SheetMusicPlus lists for convenient future reference. It is limited to the thumbs-at-middle-C position throughout 41 measures, using only white keys. It is an extremely legible and easy version of a popular classic used often at weddings. It's a perfect piece for playing for church or a recital. The only thing wrong with it is the missing rest notations, as in empty space where rests are supposed to be, which irritates me. That's why not 5 stars.
