This was an excellent purchase, well bound, and clear print. Of course, it contains Verdi's music as full as we have it. It is not a critical edition, but this is one of Verdi's operas that really didn't have that many changes. In fact, quite a few of Verdi's opera critical editions have very few revisions, especially when compared to Bellini, Donizetti, or most especially Rossini. The one I have discovered with the most revisions was Don Carlos, complete with two different versions (the four act Italian version never overseen by Verdi himself). Otello is as we know it and have always heard it (and we do have recordings of the creator of Otello and Iago singing their most famous arias, and those are exactly like the score). What sets this score apart is it is a HARDCOVER, and well, they always seem to be far better bound than paper covered scores. And I have never noticed the glue used in the bindings degrade and break away like they often do with paper bound versions with time. And what really astonished me was the price for this well-bound hardcover score didn't cost any more than a regular paper bound score. That made it a really exceptional deal right from the start.
