Letterlijk 'De vogels van Brazilië', hier bedoeld als de bevolking. In deel 1 Pássaros Coloridos (bontgekleurde vogels) bootst een ocarina of panfluit een amazonevogel na. Deel 2 Pomba Triste (droeve duif), een bossa-nova, gaat over de sambameisjes voor wie het carnaval niet steeds plezier is maar ook een bron van inkomsten. Deel 3 Os Pássaros no Carnaval (de vogels van het carnaval) is een typische snelle samba uit Rio en mondt uit in een spontane melodie gezongen door alle feestvierders.

Literally “The Birds of Brazil”, this title refers to the Brazilian people. In Part 1 Passaros coloridos (Coloured Birds) an ocarina or panflute imitates an amazon bird. Part 2 Pomba Triste (Sad Dove) is in a bossa nova style, and tells of the samba girls for whom carnival is not just fun but also a source of income. Part 3 Os Passaros no Carnaval (The Birds of the Carnival) is a typical fast samba from Rio and culminates in a spontaneous melody sung by all the carnival revellers.

Le titre (tr Les Oiseaux du Brésil) désigne ici les Brésiliens. Dans la 1ère partie Pássaros Coloridos (Les Oiseaux Multicolores) l’ocarina (ou flûte de pan) imite un oiseau d'Amazonie. La 2ième partie Pomba Triste (Pigeon triste), une bossa-nova, parle des filles de samba pour qui le Carnaval est non seulement synonyme de plaisir, mais aussi source de revenus. La 3ième partie Os Pássaros no Carnaval (Les Oiseaux du Carnaval) est une samba endiablée typique qui aboutit en une mélodie spontanée chantée par tous les fêtards.

Wörtlich übersetzt bedeutet der Titel ‚Die Vögel von Brasilien‘, gemeint ist hier aber die Bevölkerung. In Teil 1 Passaros Coloridos (bunte Vögel) ahmt eine Okarina oder Panflöte einen Amazonasvogel nach. Teil 2 Pomba Triste (traurige Taube) ist eine Bossa Nova. Hier geht es um Sambatänzerinnen, für die der Karneval nicht nur Spaß, sondern auch Geld verdienen bedeutet. Teil 3 Os Passaros no Carnaval (LET OP: mag het niet „do Carnaval“ heten?) ist eine typische schnelle Samba aus Rio, die in eine spontan von allen gesungene Melodie mündet.
