Thomas Newman's main theme from the 1995 "Little Women" soundtrack. This piece, originally scored for full orchestra, has been reduced to a string quartet but still follows Newman's original structure, including several of the iconic "fugue" moments with the wind/brass melodies transposed to strings.
This chart is sight-readable by a professional ensemble, though fair warning to the 2nd violinist: if 16th notes are at all concerning to you, a pre-gig read thru is advisable.
Performance time - approximately 3:30 for the full chart, but has plenty of appropriate "ending cadences" near rehearsal marks B, D, and E
