GERTRUDE musical setting commonly known as "Onward, Christian Soldiers" and J. S. Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring". I have adapted the Bach chorale to fit in the quarter time of the Sullivan hymn and the two parts rotate from 12/8 to 4/4 throughout. It works very well for both instruments and could be used in almost any setting, secular as well as sacred.
