Elle est inspirée par le monastère de Lorvão, situé à Penacova dans le district de Coimbra au Portugal. Le compositeur a opté pour une bande-sonore de type épique. A caminho dos 100 anos (Auf dem Weg zum 100-Jahr-Jubiläum) entstand im Auftrag der Filarmónica Boa Vontade Lorvanense, aus Penacova in Portugal. Inspiriert wurde das Werk durch das Lorvao-Kloster in Penacova im Bezirk Coimbra. Der Komponist versuchte, Musik wie zu einem Film-Trailer zu schreiben, sehr episch und gefühlvoll.
