This is a mixed quintet arrangement (2 trumpets in Bb, tenor & baritone saxes, and string bass) of “On Green Dolphin Street” which was written for the 1947 film “Green Dolphin Street.” The definitive 1958 recording of this jazz standard by Miles Davis’s sextet featured pianist Bill Evans and saxophonists John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley. This is an intermediate to advanced level arrangement with rhythmic and harmonic complexity. Although the original tune alternated sections between Latin and swing rhythms, this arrangement stays with a swing feel throughout. Jazz audiences will appreciate this classic standard.
