We are a people on a journey of discovery,
Learning together what it means to follow Jesus,
Eager to see and walk the path that lies before us,
Practicing mercy, longing for justice,
Embracing the whole world, lit by the fire of love.
A praying people joined in love,
The Bible guides us as we move,
We come to worship in this place,
Friends in the spirit, bound by grace.
We give our time, our wealth, our all,
We serve wherever God might call,
We have new life in Christ to share,
We tell the story everywhere.

God of the sky and forests fair,
We find your bounty everywhere,
God of abundance let us see,
The end of grinding poverty.
We join our hopes our hearts our hands,
To do the work that love demands,
Across the seas, beyond the walls,
Wherever Christ our Savior calls.

This final section is a dialog between praise band or choir on one hand and congregation on the other. The choir or praise band announces a location and the congregation responds with either “We follow you, Oh Christ” or “We gladly serve your cause”.

At the end of several of these, the praise band or choir will sing “So let it be” and the congregation responds with “So let it be.” Then the chorus is sung once more and the song ends.
