This was originally written as a ballet piece to be used as a solo, festival performance etc, but I have adapted here it into a short instrumental concert waltz. Why Olivia? I chose "Olivia" (of latin origin) meaning "olive tree" or "olive branch". The name was popular in the 17th century as olive tree is a symbol of peace, fertility and victory and it has been associated with these qualities in cultures throughout history. The name was used by William Shakespeare, who used it for a character in his play "Twelfth Night"
I saw this as a very romantic lyrical waltz. It's essentially in ternary form with two phrases in the middle passing through related keys before returning to the original theme. The instrumental parts are very equal in terms of complexity, and the whole piece should be played very legato with a good deal of rubato. I have set it to Intermediate level, but the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability.
Price is for the full score and parts.
It is 4 mins 30 in length Ideal for use in concert, recital, wedding, background events, special occasions etc.
