Huge disappointment
To say I am unhappy with this piece would be an understatement. The original, as sung by Olivia Newton-John is a wonderful gentle melody but this arrangement has the woodwind (and theres lots of them in a concert band) in their upper register the oboe almost plays a note at the extent of its range and french horns for example up on top Fs and top Gs. This is not an arrangement that represents the original song.In my opinion this is not something that could be performed as it sounds so terrible and as such is not fit for purpose. In over 40 years of buying music I have never asked for my money back but this piece is the first. In fairness, SMP have refunded me. I would also suggest that the electronic playback on the website isnt representative of a concert band playing (it actually sounds very nice which is one of the reasons I was persuaded to buy it).
