Old Market Square Metropolis of the East: part II Fanfare Band - Sheet Music

In het tweede deel van het tweeluik Metropolis of the East staat de Oude Markt, het middelpunt van Enschede, centraal. Elementen zoals de centrale Grote Kerk, het monument voor de stadsbrand in 1862 en andere historische gebeurtenissen zoals de textielstakingen zijn terug te horen in het stuk maar ook de vele cafés, terrassen, het theater Concordia en de huidige festivals. Het stuk vormt een tweeluik met The Cotton Phoenix (Alex Poelman) maar kan ook prima afzonderlijk gespeeld worden.

In the second part of the two-piece work Metropolis of the East is the Old Market, the centre point of the city of Enschede in the Netherlands. Elements such as the Great Church, the monument to the city fire of 1862, and historical events such as the textile strike can be heard in this piece, as well as the sounds of the many al-fresco cafes, the theatre Concordia, and the many festivals. This piece is coupled with The Cotton Phoenix (Alex Poelman) but functions well as a stand-alone work.

Dans la deuxième partie du dyptique Metropolis of the East les thèmes parlent du Vieux Marché, point central de la ville d’Enschede. La Grande Église, le monument pour le grand incendie de 1862 et d’autres évènements historiques comme les grèves dans le textile sont dépeints dans ce morceau, mais aussi les nombreux cafés, terrasses, le théâtre Concordia et les festivals d’aujourd’hui. Tout en formant un dyptique avec The Cotton Phoenix (A. Poelman) la pièce peut très bien être jouée séparément.

Zusammen mit The Cotton Phoenix von Alex Poelman bildet Old Market Square das Diptychon Metropolis des Ostens. In diesem zweiten Teil steht der Oude Markt, das Zentrum von Enschede, im Mittelpunkt. Es werden auch einige andere Örtlichkeiten und Ereignisse beschrieben wie beispielsweise die Grote Kerk, die Streiks der Textilarbeiter, die vielen Cafés, das Theater Concordia und die heutigen Festivals.
