This hymn for Transfiguration Sunday is a whole tone higher than the key of my original YouTube recording and arranged for TTB or TB with an additional descant, at the liberty of each individual tenor and bass choir. The gorgeous, flowing piano accompaniment features complex yet intuitive rhythms in 12/8, and all the vocal parts are written as heard in the recording including the descant melodies. This song is often used in the time after Epiphany and sometimes around Easter, but most especially during the Sunday of the Transfiguration. It also makes for a beautiful solo all year long, if you enjoy soaring Celtic melodies woven around ancient hymn lyrics. These are the lyrics as found in the Lutheran ELW hymnal, translated by John Mason Neale. There are several other versions available for purchase and performance by soloists and different vocal groups, available by searching my name or clicking on it below.
