O Savior, Tear open the Heavens, was first premiered in 1622, and is very popular throughout the world. After the introduction the melody is played first by the woodwinds. This is followed by an intermezzo where the brass takes over the tune. This beautiful arrangement for wind band ends in a grand tutti.
