This is an arrangement of the original PASSION CHORALE, Bach's arrangement of Haasler's chorale. The first stanza is interplay with the melody between the parts. The second is a four-part arrangement of Bach's arrangement with original accompaniment to give it variety. The third stanza is optional a cappellla and is the original Bach arrangement. Relatively easy to prepare it provides an opportunity for less traditional choirs to prepare and present more traditional music without the "stiffness" of a purely classical setting. It would be appropriate to use with small or large choirs or ensembles.
