This is an arrangement of the familiar hymn by Charles Hubert H. Parry extracted from his larger work Hear My Words, Ye People for 2 solo voices, double chorus and organ, the final chorus here reduced for a single 2 part mixed ensemble and piano accompaniment. A wonderful work with the grandeur of the English anthem, the first and third verses are in choral unison while the second verse and final Amens split into SB voicing with an option to expand into brief alto and tenor. The choral writing allows it to be accessible for smaller choirs, however it does require a competent accompanist. A fuller SATB setting of this work is also available by this arranger.
