Composed by Andre Campra. Arranged by Raymond Clark. Baroque treasure. General. Octavo. CanticaNOVA Publications #7060. Published by CanticaNOVA Publications (C5.7060).The sweet Latin solo O Jesu, mi dulcis by Andre Campra is the basis of this arrangement by R. H. Clark. He has translated the text into English, given us a second verse based on the Psalms, and added an optional flute part. The charming melody is the star of this arrangement, and could be sung medium-voice soloist or by a unison choir (either treble, men, or mixed). The flute part, not part of the Campra original, can be omitted, but it does add a pleasant Baroque flavor. This could also be played on violin or oboe with equal effect.
