By Martha And The Vandellas. By Brian Holland, Edward Holland, and Lamont Dozier. Arranged by Bob Eggers. This edition: pdf, streaming. 20th Century, A Cappella, Gospel, Pop, Rock. 15 pages. ROBERT J EGGERS #1218199. Published by ROBERT J EGGERS (A0.1651558).
Hard driving Motown from the great Holland-Dozier-Holland songwriting team, Nowhere To Run features a gospel feel and a high wailing solo. It was a charting hit for Martha and the Vandellas, and has been featured in a number of films, including "Good Morning, Viet Nam" because it captures the very heartbeat of the era. This arrangement, while strongly choral, is as hard rocking as the original and is suitable for the intermediate choir. The solo can be taken by a high tenor or a strong treble voice. Duration is 3:00. The funk is at times pure rock, at others, pure jazz with some interesting ensemble work to break things up. Your audience will not be able to keep their feet still!
It is strongly reccomended to follow the YouTube link to hear the entrie arrangement.
