Not Just Another Jazz Book by Mike Springer
This whole series is exciting and very satisfying to play. I am a piano teacher and recently bought this book and the other two in the same series. All three are wonderful, and my students can't wait to play them once they've heard the CDs. The books encompass a wide variety of jazz styles, and the compositions have a very sophisticated and contemporary sound. They are definitely challenging, with interesting harmonies and complicated rhythms, and I would say that this book 3 pushes the boundaries of late intermediate into early advanced. The pieces are so motivating, however, that they encourage students to stretch their skills. I love playing them too.
