This is a tender song about heaven inspired by the dying words of Evangelist Dwight L. Moody. Psalm 23 tells us that the "valley of the shadow of death" is not permanent. Rather, we walk through it in a very temporary way. Moody said, "If this is dying, it is beautiful ... This is my coronation day. There is no no valley here."
In 2004 at a private one-on-one song writing session, Gloria Gaither said that the song moved her and was my "best song to date." Once I had the lyrics, the Lord quickly gave me the melody.
It is also available in a magnificent choir arrangement.
