This dark and extensive piece has been carefully arranged for Concert Band. The drama of the night is reflected across the board with the coming of dawn signalling the end of the activities of the creatures of the Night. Walt Disney took the piece and melded it into his film classic 'Fantasia', adding Schubert's Ave Maria onto the end. This is the socre that is presented here, The Night plus Ave Maria. The theme is carried beautifully by solo trombone. One of my favourite pieces of music.
