Beautiful Piano Solos, Not for Vocal Accompaniment
While this Narada collection offers lovely New Age pieces suitable for late intermediate piano, it’s important to note it’s strictly a piano solo book. The texture involves complex 4-note chords and intricate rhythms, designed for the piano to carry both melody and harmony entirely. Therefore, it’s not formatted for accompanying a vocalist or analyzing specific vocal ranges, but for pure instrumental performance, the musicality and arrangements are quite engaging.

I absolutely love diving into this Narada New Age Piano Sampler! Featuring beautiful pieces by various artists like 'Cristofori's Dream,' it’s incredibly rewarding to play. The Late Intermediate level (SMP Level 6) offers a good challenge, especially with those 4-note chords and varied rhythms, but it’s totally achievable with some dedication. Good music for not very good piano players
It's a good book if you enjoy playing the piano but haven't got the skills/time/dedication to master Debussy or Chopin. It's not for total beginners but the pieces are do-able with a bit of effort and very satisfying. Most are somewhat shortened or slightly simplified versions of the recorded pieces but are still in the original keys - very useful! If you dont own the recordings you'd do well to listen to them via a streaming website such as Grooveshark. The style of music is modern, tuneful, uplifting and romantic - better to listen to than for me to describe, but if you like modern pieces by the likes of Ludovic Einaudi, Craig Armstrong, etc, you'd be happy with these. It's a good book, I'd recommend it :)
