This orchestration based on Concert Etudes op.40: 1. Prelude 2. Pastoral 3. Reverie 4. Intermezzo
I arranged this symphonic-jazz suite for symphony orchestra with the composer's approval. The complexity of the musical themes and the high virtuosity of the individual movements didn't deter me from my undertaking. On the contrary, the stylistic features of this vibrant music, its drive and high energy, constantly spurred and stimulated new instrumentation ideas. In my transcription, I wanted to combine academic orchestration principles with the traditional presentation style of large jazz orchestras. The four movements of this suite contrast with each other, yet are firmly united by jazz techniques and a common style of presentation. I hope to receive approval and a desire, especially from musicians in large orchestras, to play it, trying their hand at this exclusive playing style.
