Composed by Stephen Collins Foster (July 4, 1826 – January 13, 1864). Arranged by Chris Gorman. 19th Century,Spiritual,Standards,Traditional. Brass Band. 53 pages. Chris Gorman #894106. Published by Chris Gorman (A0.1304665)."My Old Kentucky Home, Good-Night!" is a sentimental ballad written by Stephen Foster, probably composed in 1852. It was published in January 1853. Foster was likely inspired by Harriet Beecher Stowe's anti-slavery novel Uncle Tom's Cabin, as evidenced by the title of a sketch in Foster's sketchbook, "Poor Uncle Tom, Good-Night!" This arrangement has been given a fresh upgrade and re-cooked into an upbeat "Bluegrass" style which appears from "the oven" as My Old Kentucky Fried Chicken !. Everyone gets to have their solo spot.
