The comforting words set to a soothing melody musically portray the beauty of God's promises found in Scripture. This song is formatted as a vocal solo with piano accompaniment (3-staff piano-vocal score). Set in the key of F major/D minor, the vocal range is from middle C to the second D above.
Though the piece is written for voice it also makes a beautiful instrumental piece with a C-instrument (such as flute, oboe, or violin) playing the solo part. For the violin, all notes can be played in the first position on the G, D, and A strings making this an excellent selection for a beginning violin student.
