The repeating refrain has a recurrent accompaniment each time but the choral treatment varies in each setting. The first two verses of the piece can be sung either by unison male or treble voices or may give opportunities for your soloists. The third verse is for 4 part choir with a bit of tight harmony, but all parts of the piece are well supported in the accompaniment. The biggest challenge, though minimal, would be feeling the syncopation with rhythmic accuracy. This is a wonderful spiritual in somewhat different clothing but would be accessible for almost any ensemble.
