"My Favorite Things" is a song from the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The Sound of Music. Julie Andrews performed the song in 1965 when she starred as Maria in the film version of the musical. n 2004, the movie version of the song placed at number 64 on AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs survey of top tunes in American cinema.
Sir George Albert Shearing was a British jazz pianist who for many years led a popular jazz group that recorded for MGM Records and Capitol Records. Shearing was the composer of over 300 songs, including the jazz standards "Lullaby of Birdland" and "Conception", and had multiple albums on the Billboard charts during his long and successful career.
